Project Overview

Total Regen  is proud to announce the successful completion of the Research Acceleration and Demonstration (RAD) building. This impressive 2500m2 center, located within the innovation park on the University of Nottingham’s Jubilee Campus, will serve as a hub for cutting-edge research and testing as part of the Energy Research Accelerator initiative.

The RAD building is a collaborative effort between the Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) and Innovate UK, with funding provided by the latter. ERA brings together the research expertise of six Midlands Innovation universities and the British Geological Survey (BGS), along with industry partners, to drive significant advancements in energy innovation.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the RAD building is a highly sustainable structure that will house some of the UK’s leading academics. These experts will work hand in hand with businesses to expedite the introduction of new technologies in the energy sector.

One of the key features of the RAD building is its state-of-the-art laboratory space. This space will enable researchers to conduct a wide range of studies, from the harvesting and storing of wind energy to the development of innovative materials for hydrogen storage. By providing cutting-edge facilities, the RAD building will foster groundbreaking research that has the potential to revolutionize the energy industry.

In addition to the laboratory space, the RAD building also includes dedicated office areas for researchers. These spaces are designed to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing, fostering an environment where ideas can be discussed and explored. The central atrium of the building further enhances this collaborative atmosphere, offering breakout spaces where researchers can gather and exchange insights.

The completion of the RAD building marks a significant milestone in the Energy Research Accelerator initiative. It represents a tangible step towards achieving the goals of the collaboration, which include driving energy innovation, promoting sustainability, and fostering partnerships between academia and industry.
