Project Overview
Total Regen were successful in securing the design, supply and installation works for the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services on the new West Bromwich Building Society Head Office in West Bromwich. The building society was looking for a reliable and sustainable solution that would provide back-up in the event of a power outage.
The Total Regen approach
Total Regen successfully delivered the design and installation of a large, complex data centre and chiller plant, energy efficient and sensory lighting throughout, and all building services to kitchens, bathrooms and washrooms. State-of-the-art ventilation and control systems were implemented in order to minimise energy consumption.
To ensure the building is able to remain operational during a power outage, the six-storey headquarters also required the installation of a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) system and two twin back-up generators.
Raised access floors were implemented throughout the building to allow power bus-bars and data cabling to suit the diverse range of office layouts.
The building now occupies over 500 people and boasts significantly improved facilities for both the client’s employees and their customers. The sustainable solutions implemented led to a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’, which will help West Bromwich Building Society increase market value, lower operating costs, and contribute to the well-being of the environment.
PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS
POWER OUTAGE PROTECTION – Total Group installed an Uninterruptable Power Supply system and two twin back-up generators
LOCAL REGENERATION – the new office joins various other new buildings that have helped to regenerate the town centre in recent years
BREEAM ‘VERY GOOD’ RATING – the building has achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’ due to its numerous energy-saving features
INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS – since handover, Total Group’s Facilities Management team successfully secured the ongoing maintenance contract for the site
Airfield Business Park
Total Group has been appointed by the council to construct a range of high-spec steel frame industrial units at Airfield Business Park, located just outside Market Harborough. These units, ranging from 1,570 to 33,360 sq. ft, will provide additional space for businesses in the area.
Intensive Support Unit
In 2012, the trust appointed Total Group as the principal contractor for the construction of a new and advanced Intensive Support Services Unit (ISSU) on Firshill Rise, Sheffield. This project aimed to provide a state-of-the-art facility to cater to the needs of the community and bed-based service users.
